Rinca Island - Komodo Dragons
Typically on the last day of your package with us, we skip the third dive and visit Rinca Island to see the Komodo Dragons. On Rinca, there you'll be met by a National Park Guide who will escort you on one of three treks (short, medium and long) to see where the dragons live and reproduce their young. The treks range from about 1-3 hours.
About an hour from Labuan Bajo one can visit Melo Village to experience Caci whip fighting & dance found only on the island of Flores. Here you will have the opportunity to meet the native Mangarai tribal people and know their customs. You can dance amongst the ladies and sample local arak with the men in their homes.
Batu Cermin (Mirror Rock)
Just four kilometers from Labuan Bajo you'll find Batu Cermin that is actually a tunnel in the hillside. Here, sunshine comes in through a hole in the tunnel and then bounces on the stone walls that again reflect small lights to other areas inside the cave like a mirror.
Located on Komodo Island itself is Pink Beach. Here you'll find a beautiful stretch of fine sand that when the sunlight is just right, will appear pink and is only one of seven in the world. The sand appears pink because it is a mixture of white sand combined with red sand.
