Dive Komodo with Tasik Divers
Most of the diving we do is located within Komodo National Park. We typically depart our hotel after breakfast about 7:30AM and meet Blue Stellar at the marina only 5 minutes away. During the 45-60 minute cruise to our first dive site, aboard you can enjoy coffee, tea and light snacks. Expect to dive the eastern side or northern part of Komodo Island. Dives usually last 50-60 minutes depending on the group's experience and profile. Tasik Divers emphasizes non-decompression diving and safety above all. Before and after each dive, roll call is conducted and each diver is provided a personal surface marker buoy for additional safety. In addition, we limit our diver to guide ratio of only 4:1 to avoid any traffic jam under water and stay safe in potentially strong currents. Equally important, our two diver minimum requirement for day trips is the lowest in Labuan Bajo; most other operators require you to have four persons booked.
After your first dive we enjoy beverages and snacks while our boat moves to a second location during your surface interval of approximately one hour. After your second dive of the day, hot lunch is served on board. Once lunch is complete and everyone has (probably) napped off some of their nitrogen, we do our third dive and head back to Labuan Bajo arriving at 4:30PM -5:00PM.
Included in your dive package are the following:
- Drinking water
- Tea, coffee & snacks
- Lunch (for 3 dive trips)
- Dive site briefings
- Air fills & use of weights
- Hotel-marina transfers
All passengers entering Komodo National Park are subject to a 175,000 IDR/day/person entrance fee and an additional $50,000 for divers. The park fee unfortunately increases to 250,000IDR/day/person on Sundays and holidays. These fees are not included in your dive package.
If any of our guests would like to dive the south part of Komodo Island a separate speedboat can be arranged. Nitrox is also available upon request. Everyone's dive gear is left aboard Blue Stellar, washed and guarded at night by Captain Raub so it will be ready for the next morning.
New Scuba Pro dive gear is available for rental.
Please note there is no hyperbaric chamber in the Komodo area or Labuan Bajo however there is a new hospital that opened in 2016. We do recommend DAN insurance for all divers.
